time has been flying by lately-- but for some reason this week is dragging a little slower.

I'm loving >> sunshine & shopping

Saturday morning after our ritual long morning walk with Lola we headed south to Palo Alto. 

The weather has been beautiful and I love me some outside mall shopping (who am I kidding? I love any kind of shopping) We (and by we, I mean James-- I shop solo) picked up some new stuff for Hawaii (eek!)

I tweeted out my leopard Bridget's (above) to Shoemint (and my fav yellow pants, if you hadn't noticed). and I thought it was pretty darn exciting when I got a re-tweet. (hello Rachel Bilson, want to be my bestie?)

Later Saturday night we doubled with our friends lauren & matt for cocktails and dinner.

we tried absinthe- which I've been itching to go to.. and I'm glad we did! it was deeeelicious and a super fun atmosphere. 

and to think- i just cut another 4 inches off!

I'm loving >> vacation preparation 

Working out & eating healthy have been top priority over here. I've mixed it up with P90X, running and Jillian Michael DVDs. James and I also been following the '4hour body' eating plan (which is similar to the paleo diet) and doing as much gluten-free as humanly possible. I feel amazing and well I'm seeing the change in my body (and how my clothes fit).

I'll share a post last this week (or so) with the bathing suits and some other fun beach stuff I have together for Hawaii. I seriously can't wait. Gonna start working on a list of things I want to see/do while in Hawaii. suggestions are always welcomed..

I'm loving >> visitors!

This upcoming weekend-- we have some friends in town from Ohio. Excited to spend the day in wine country and I always have fun exploring san francisco! 

Ahh-- let's hope May gets here quick.

birthday celebrations

My birthday was back in March (better late than never) and I celebrated by squeeeeeezing a group of amazing friends in our apartment! I was excited to spend it drinking sangria, toasting with yum strawberry jello shots and dancing into the wee hours of the morning!

And even though the rain kept us indoors, it kept everyone's wet shoes out-- in the hallway! I thought it was especially funny everyone took their shoes off before coming in! (they all know me too well-- or have really really good manners)! 

Can't even begin to explain what a blast my birthday night was!  Can't wait to do it again for Lola's birthday! :)

Oh-- and I thought it'd be kinda-sorta fun to do something a little different...

it's been a while..

It's been exactly a month since my last post. I left you with Wednesday and well where better to pick up.. than with Wednesday. Sound good?

I can't believe it's already April! (I haaaate to even say this, because it's said so frequently, but seriously. time is flying by...). March came and went and here's a little of what happened: (I sound like the intro a real housewives episode, ha)

*Had a super fun girls weekend here in SF with some of my college bff'ers (and sorority sisters). We ventured up to Napa for St. Patty's Day and even scored some green wine. Oh and had the most delicious dinner of my life.
*Celebrated my birthday with an amazing group of friends! We drank loooots of sangria and some yummy strawberry shots. (pictures to come... promises)!
*Started and finished the Hunger Game trilogy and saw the movie opening night! (loooooved the movie and was slightly disappointed in the final book)
*Added some touches to our apartment. Finally got our chair for the little window nook in our apartment. Filled some frames with some art (even though they're still not all hung). Can't wait to share pictures (soon, I hate sharing an incomplete look!)
*Have some exciting plans up my sleeves that I'm really really over-the-moon to get off the ground.
*Welcomed some great changes with work!

And with that, I really hope to keep up on my blogging. Gonna give it my best!
Let's see how this goes... baby steps.

hi pretties!

happy wednesday!

san fran had some aaamazing weather this weekend. we spent a majority of it outside. after our morning workout (it was also diet cheat day-- loving saturday cheat days!) we planned on having some pizza and heading for a long walk/hike around the city. of course we got side tracked and headed to an outside restaurant with some friends... it started with 4 and ended with 9. love sunny afternoons with great company!

since the weather was equally as beautiful on sunday- james and I took Lola to a nearby park. being from a town with backyards-- I was surprised to see soooo many people laying outside sunbathing! loooove that I got a little tan and that lola got to run around in the grass!

seriously now- I am obsessed (more emphasis than love) with the hunger games. I have already finished 'the hunger games' and have moved onto 'catching fire' (zipping through it equally as fast!). I'm such a fan of reading and I love it even more when I get sucked into a great read! and now? I can't wait to see the movie!

loving.. >> adventures to wine country. for james' birthday on sunday, we drove over the golden gate bridge & spent the afternoon in sonoma- enjoying the weather & some wine together. we also joined their 'wine club' and I looooove that it gives us an excuse to visit more frequently! 

loving.. >> morning family walks. james & I have started a tradition-- starbucks & our weekend walks with lola. and how much does this picture melt your heart?? she's patiently waiting for her momma. my sweet lolabear.

loving.. >> little things that make my heart smile. 

1. thought gift from a friend who knows I blog (who also gave lola some new soft toys and james a new jcrew shirt & some franzia (inside joke)) 

2. single roses from valentine's day on my nightstand

because-- finishing an entire cake this size (thank you costco), with hawaii 92 days (eeeek! yay!) away-  is exactly what I should not* be doing.

loving-- san francisco. the weather has been fantastic. people have been amazing and city life- well it's pretty awesome. it has been 7 months since I moved to SF and I can't say enough great things! I am so happy to call san francisco home!

...tonight we're heading over to a friend's house for 'game night'. girls vs. boys.
and I'm trying to get back to a consistent blogging schedule!

Lack of creativity-- and I love these (win/win)

-Haven't blogged in 6 days-- at least it's not seventeen (for some reason typing double digit numbers doesn't make it seem as long). 
-I finished off the carrot cake (for breakfast)-- Only 'leftovers' I reeeally like. And that I even had carrot cake for breakfast- uh, they serve it at Starbucks.
-Love that I have days where I can wear my hair in a topknot and scrubs to work.
-The rain and cold morning made it easier to hit snooze this morning and was part of the reason I decided to not run this morning (blogging instead, good trade off)
-Love concierge. I have been calling the concierge at the hotels I hope we're staying at in Hawaii to plan our activities and get all the details figured out. They're a wealth of information!
-I don't feel like going anywhere or doing anything for the Super Bowl-- specifically because I don't wanna be tempted to eat wings, pizza, fries and drink beer. It's acceptable to eat salads and have a glass of wine for the SB behind closed doors.
-Finally got my watch and now I also want gold/rose gold one! Soooo cute.

I absolutely love wearing dresses. Maxi's are so comfortable and versatile. I have been wearing one almost everyday! Dressing them up during the work week with heels and a blazer. And over the weekends with a scarf, jean jacket (yes jean jacket--so glad I didn't toss it!) and sandals. And now I am on the hunt for some maxi skirts!

Rain & rain boots

Eek! Yes I am admitting that. We get mist here in San Fran most mornings- but the last 3 days we've had actually rain. Which means-- I get to wear my Hunter boots! (and splash without worrying about getting my toes wet!)

November/Thanksgiving being right around the corner!

James and I are heading back to Ohio for Thanksgiving! Excited to spend time with our families and visit with friends. (we better get on booking those plane tickets!)

It is also the weekend of the Michigan/Ohio State game (which is probably the biggest college football rivalry) . This year the game is at the Big House!

And I have my ten year high school reunion (typing ten seems like harsh that seeing the number-ha!) I graduated from a very small high school and I am still really good friends with the girls I grew up with. But it'll be fun catching up and seeing what everyone else is up to. (plus seeing what we've planned will be exciting too!)
